About The Role We are looking for a Designer to join our Designer Development Program. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in CAD, drafting, mechanical/MEP design, construction, or a related technical field who wants to develop a long-term career in fire protection design.

The program provides hands-on training, mentoring, professional development, and a structured career path.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of wet and dry fire sprinkler systems
• Create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using CAD/design software
• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and conceptual layouts
• Assist with field surveys, material takeoffs, system calculations, and equipment selection
• Review plans, specifications, and construction drawings
• Assist with estimates, project planning, and design changes
• Coordinate with project managers, lead designers, field personnel, and customers
• Prepare specifications, O&M documentation, and organized project files
• Learn and apply applicable fire protection codes and standards

Qualifications

• AutoCAD or other CAD/drafting experience preferred
• Experience with mechanical design, MEP, construction, architecture, drafting, or engineering technology is a plus
• Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of 2D/3D layouts and spatial relationships
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn new design software, fire protection systems, codes, and standards

Fire sprinkler/fire protection experience is a plus but not required. Candidates with strong CAD/drafting or technical design backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
