Our client is a well-established organisation with a busy operational workforce and a strong reliance on technology to support day-to-day operations. They are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Analyst to join the team on a short-term contract and provide additional support during a busy period.

About the Role

This is a hands-on Desktop Support role within a predominantly on-premises Microsoft environment. Working as part of a small and collaborative IT team, you'll be responsible for providing timely support to end users, resolving service desk tickets, and assisting with a variety of desktop, hardware, and operational support activities.

The environment is fast-paced and user-focused, with a significant amount of face-to-face support. You'll regularly assist staff through walk-up support, troubleshoot hardware issues, and help keep technology running smoothly across the organisation.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Resolve desktop support and service desk tickets
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for end users
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues
• Deliver walk-up and deskside support to staff
• Configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
• Support Microsoft-based systems and applications
• Assist the wider IT team with operational and project-related tasks as required

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Desktop Support, Service Desk, or End User Support role
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft desktop environments
• Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications
• Confidence providing face-to-face support in a busy operational environment
• Experience with device deployment, hardware support, and user onboarding
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team environment
• A willingness to get stuck in and help wherever needed
