Desktop Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and service-oriented Desktop Engineer to provide day-to-day technical support for employees, workstations, laptops, peripherals, software, and IT infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT equipment, supporting users at office and project sites, and ensuring systems remain operational and secure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level technical support to employees for desktop, laptop, printer, network, and software-related issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
• Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, applications, and required software.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures, operating system errors, application issues, and connectivity problems.
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, printers, and basic network connectivity.
• Set up new employee workstations, email accounts, software, and IT equipment.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, access permissions, and basic Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace administration.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, accessories, and assigned equipment.
• Perform regular system updates, security patches, antivirus checks, and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to Microsoft Office, browsers, Teams, Outlook, and other business applications.
• Provide technical support during meetings, presentations, events, and project installations when required.
• Support IT equipment deployed at project and client sites.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware repairs, software issues, warranties, and replacements.
• Maintain proper documentation of IT assets, service requests, repairs, and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure company IT policies and security procedures are followed.
• Assist with data backup, recovery, and system migration activities.
• Provide user guidance and basic IT training when required.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT or management team.
• Perform any other IT-related duties assigned by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in desktop support, IT support, or a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop hardware.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office, and user account management.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID is preferred.
• Good hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot computers and peripherals.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Willingness to travel to project/client sites when required.
• UAE driving license is an advantage.

Working Conditions

The role will involve supporting both office users and project/site requirements. The engineer may be required to work outside normal office hours during project installations, events, system upgrades, or urgent technical requirements.

Pay: Up to AED5,000.00 per month
