Desktop Support

Desktop support engineer or specialist helps company workers fix computer hardware, software, and network problems. They set up new machines, answer support tickets, and give technical help in person or by remote access. [1, 2, 3, 4]Main Duties

• Fix Problems: Answer user help requests and solve issues with Windows or Mac systems, email programs, and office apps.
• Setup Hardware: Install and configure new computers, laptops, printers, and monitors.
• Remote and On-Site Help: Diagnose and fix system errors using remote tools or by visiting the user's desk.
• Track Tickets: Record all issues, steps, and final fixes inside a help desk tracking tool.
• Escalate Issues: Send hard or complex technical problems to higher-level network or server teams. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Skills Needed

• Tech Knowledge: Good understanding of Windows and macOS, basic networking, and active directory.
• Communication: Clear speaking and writing skills to help non-technical staff.
• Problem Solving: Ability to test different solutions and find the root cause of an error.
• Experience: 0 to 3+ years in an IT support role, often backed by basic certs like CompTIA A+. [1, 2, 3]

Pay: ₹8,826.67 - ₹29,434.49 per month
