Desktop Support Engineer 1

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS, desktops, laptops, and standard business applications.
• Configure and provide support for printers, scanners, data cards, peripherals, and mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware and software issues and escalate hardware-related problems to vendors/OEMs when required.
• Configure and troubleshoot internet, proxy, email client, and other connectivity-related issues.
• Provide end-user support and assist users with application access as per standard SOPs.
• Manage disk space, folder sharing, permissions, and user privileges in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate IT asset records, including new machines, asset movements, and configuration changes.
• Handle ticket logging, tracking, escalation, and closure using the designated ticketing tool.
• Coordinate with vendors/OEMs for desktop hardware, software, printer, and other IT-related issues.
• Provide support for video conferencing setup and troubleshooting.
• Assist with LAN, printing, and file services support.
• Follow IT support processes, security policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Skills

• Gender: Male candidates only
• Good knowledge of Windows OS and desktop/laptop hardware troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of networking, LAN, internet, and proxy settings.
• Experience with ticketing tools and IT support processes.
• Knowledge of IT asset management.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Ability to work independently in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, if required.
