Desktop Support Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, UPS, and other IT peripherals.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Support physical and virtual servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
• Configure and support end-user computing devices and enterprise applications.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine health checks of IT infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and coordinate with senior technical teams for issue escalation.
• Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure components.
• Maintain technical documentation, asset records, service reports, and incident logs.
• Follow IT policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and service management processes.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Ensure high system availability while minimizing downtime.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems.
• Basic working knowledge of Linux administration.
• Experience in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, UPS, and other IT peripherals.
• Understanding of physical and virtual server environments.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
