Desktop Support Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Desktop Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support to end users and ensure smooth day-to-day operation of workplace IT devices and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support for Windows, macOS and Linux laptops and desktops.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application and peripheral issues.
• Support Microsoft 365, VPN and VDI access and connectivity issues.
• Support device setup, deployment, onboarding, replacement, refresh and decommissioning.
• Perform device migration and configuration activities.
• Support printers, monitors, docking stations, mobile devices and other workplace peripherals.
• Manage walk-in user support and device distribution/returns.
• Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records.
• Log, track and update incidents and service requests in the ITSM system.
• Coordinate hardware repairs and replacements with vendors.
• Follow IT security, data protection and operational procedures.
• Escalate unresolved technical issues to the appropriate support teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Desktop, Deskside or End-User Computing support.
• 5+ years of relevant experience for senior-level positions.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS and/or Linux.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, VPN, VDI and workplace peripherals.
• Experience with device deployment, migration and IT asset management.
• Basic knowledge of endpoint security and device configuration.
• Familiarity with ITSM and ITIL processes would be advantageous.
• Experience supporting technical, engineering or research environments would be an advantage.
• Good troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills.
• Able to provide onsite support across different locations when required.
