Despatch Shift Manager

Based in Attleborough, Banham Poultry is one of the fastest-growing businesses within the Boparan Group and one of the largest employers in Norfolk. We supply high-quality chicken to many of the UK’s leading retailers, restaurants and wholesalers.

We are now looking for a Despatch Shift Manager to join our operational team and lead our Despatch operation, ensuring orders are picked and dispatched safely, accurately and on time.

Duties will include:

• Leading and managing the Despatch team to achieve daily operational targets.
• Ensuring orders are picked and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Monitoring productivity, performance and key operational KPIs.
• Managing labour and resources effectively to meet business requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, GMP and Quality.
• Ensuring company procedures and operational standards are followed.
• Supporting, coaching and developing colleagues to improve performance.
• Working closely with Production, Planning, Transport and other departments to achieve operational targets.
• Identifying and resolving operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Reporting and escalating any issues that may affect service, quality, safety or performance.
• Promoting a positive and safe working environment within the Despatch team.

To be considered, you will have:

• Previous supervisory or management experience, ideally within Despatch, Warehouse, Logistics, FMCG or Food Manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and operational procedures.
• The ability to monitor performance and work towards operational targets.
• A reliable, positive and proactive attitude.
• 4 on 4 off shift pattern from 6.00-18.00

Desirable:

Previous experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG, warehouse, logistics or Despatch environment, together with experience managing teams and working with operational KPIs.
