Chocomelt is a dessert bar specialising in desserts, chocolate and made-to-order drinks. We’re looking for a hands-on Dessert Assistant who can help deliver friendly customer service and consistent food and drink preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and other drinks to Chocomelt’s recipes and standards.
• Take customer orders, process payments and provide friendly, fast and efficient service.
• Prepare, portion and present desserts, and assist with other food preparation after training.
• Work across front of house and back of house
• Keep food preparation, customer and storage areas clean and tidy.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, cleaning and workplace procedures.
• Restock ingredients and packaging, check product presentation, and report low stock or equipment issues.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including morning set-up and evening close-down.
• Work cooperatively with the team during busy service.

Essential requirements

• A barista certificate or practical barista knowledge that you can demonstrate during the interview, and the ability to make café-style coffee.
• Customer-service experience and confidence in communicating with customers.
• Able to work across front-of-house service and back-of-house preparation.
• Reliable, organised and attentive to detail.
• Able to follow food safety and cleaning procedures.
• Available to work a roster across Monday to Sunday, including mornings, weekends and evening or late-night shifts as required. Please be aware that we close at 11 pm - may close at midnight during summer-
