Dessert Associate

Huron Mountain Bakery in Marquette currently has an opening for a Dessert Asscociate!

This is a rare position at the bakery! We are seeking, preferably, a dessert maker with some experience. This is a Full Time position that will include weekends and holidays. We are seeking someone that has knowledge of making Italian-style macarons, mousse desserts, French-style pastries, pastry creams, and so much more. We love to try new desserts. We are absolutely willing to train the right person who has passion for desserts and a desire to learn. Whoever we choose can also learn cake decorating! Upon request, we will ask for a portfolio of your work. Responsibilities include:

* Knowledge of classic dessert techniques as well as desire to learn new trends in dessert artistry.

*Excellent customer service skills.

*Icing and decorating cakes and other products for the Marquette and Ishpeming locations.

*Follow recipes to our standards.

*Receiving and processing specialty orders.

*Properly operate bakery equipment, such as stand mixers of various sizes.

* Ability to work as a team in a fast paced environment.

* Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequent use of hands for squeezing motion, bending and twisting wrists, standing in one location, walking, turning, reaching, stooping/bending, squatting, lifting/carrying objects 5 to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling objects up to 100lbs, hand to eye coordination.
