Developer - Azure Data Transformation (Contract)

They are seeking an experienced Developer to join their team in Gdynia on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on significant application transformation projects, collaborating with architects and development teams to migrate and modernise data platforms using Azure technologies.

Position Overview

As a Developer, you'll play a central role in assessing current applications and determining transformation strategies. Working closely with application architects, you'll evaluate application complexity, plan development backlogs, and guide development teams through the transition from planning to transformation. Your work will directly impact the successful migration of data platforms, supporting customer UAT activities and ensuring smooth delivery of strategic data model implementations.

Responsibilities

• Assess current applications and collaborate with architects on transformation strategy
• Determine application complexity and estimate effort required
• Design technical solutions based on requirements and target architecture
• Plan and prioritise development backlogs for transformation activities
• Guide development teams through application transition phases
• Support customer UAT activities and testing processes
• Work with DBOR data flows and processing schemas
• Implement solutions using Azure/Fabric and PySpark services

Requirements

• 8-10 years' experience in software development
• Strong Python programming skills
• Proven experience with PySpark services
• DevOps experience within Azure environments
• Knowledge of AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
• Experience with Azure SQL or PostgreSQL databases
• Understanding of OneLake Delta DB
• Familiarity with DBOR data flows and processing schemas
• Experience working with strategic data models (SDM)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with architects and development teams
• Strong analytical skills for assessing application complexity

Desirable skills include experience with CosmosDB, NoSQL variants, Postgres variants, and Data Flow Gen 2.
