Developer - Power BI

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on Power BI development, including working knowledge of DAX (measures, calculated columns, basic context transition).
• Solid SQL skills (Oracle PL/SQL and/or MS SQL Server T-SQL), able to read and modify existing stored procedures.
• Familiarity with incremental refresh and semantic model basics (star schema, fact/dimension tables).
• Exposure to ETL/data pipeline concepts; comfortable extending existing logic rather than only building from scratch.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with business stakeholders and IT counterparts.
• Nice to have: exposure to Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory) or retail/supply chain data.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, build, and troubleshoot SQL Server and Oracle stored procedures that support the data pipeline, covering source extraction, staging, transformation, and load into the reporting layer.
• Maintain and extend the Power BI semantic model and DAX logic used for classification, including measures, calculated columns, and calculated tables across the report sets.
• Support the migration of source data and business-rule classification logic from the current Power BI/DAX-heavy model onto Fabric Lakehouse (OneLake), including Power Query M and Lakehouse SQL transformations.
• Build and maintain Fabric Data Factory pipelines and Delta Lake MERGE-pattern loads for dimension and fact tables sourced from Oracle, SQL Server, and other upstream systems.
• Monitor scheduled refreshes end-to-end, diagnosing and resolving incremental refresh, query folding, and capacity/memory issues on Fabric capacity.
• Investigate and fix data pipeline defects such as row-matching conflicts, join mismatches, temp tablespace or memory errors, and other data quality issues surfaced in production.
• Work with business owners to validate business rules, thresholds, and edge cases, and translate confirmed rules into DAX or SQL logic.
• Coordinate with DBAs, infrastructure teams, and other IT groups on database access, linked servers, and source system changes affecting the dashboard.
• Maintain accurate, current technical documentation covering data lineage, stored procedure logic, DAX measure definitions, and refresh orchestration.
• Support ad hoc requests for new metrics, report pages, or data cuts as business team reporting needs evolve.
