Development Engineer

EMEA Recruitment is partnering with an international engineering organization seeking a Development Engineer to join its growing R&D team in the Netherlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a background in electrical engineering, electronics, power electronics or mechatronics to contribute to the development of innovative products and technologies, from initial concept through to prototype testing and validation.

The position offers a strong balance of technical design, practical engineering and problem-solving, making it particularly suited to someone who enjoys understanding how things work, developing new solutions and seeing their designs brought to life.

Key Responsibilities of the Development Engineer:

• Develop electrical and electronic designs, schematics and technical specifications
• Support new product development from concept through to prototyping and testing
• Conduct technical testing, troubleshooting and validation activities
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers
• Ensure designs meet relevant technical, quality and safety standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement and product innovation

The Ideal Candidate:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related discipline
• Ideally 3–5 years' experience in product development or R&D
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, ideally including power electronics or electric drives
• Experience with electrical schematics, CAD tools and technical documentation
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent English; knowledge of MATLAB or CAN protocols would be advantageous
