Macdonald & Company is partnered with a growing national real estate developer with a diverse portfolio of retail, mixed-use, and commercial projects across the Southeastern U.S. As they continue to expand their development footprint, we are seeking a highly capable Owner’s Representative to oversee the execution of ground-up construction projects and act as a trusted liaison between ownership and all project stakeholders.

About the Role:

Based in Greenville, SC and reporting to the Director of Development, the Owner’s Representative will serve as the primary point of accountability for delivering assigned projects on behalf of the ownership team. This includes coordinating all phases of project development from preconstruction and entitlement through construction and final turnover. The ideal candidate is a construction-savvy leader who can navigate design teams, contractors, municipalities, and internal departments to ensure that projects are completed to spec, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent ownership interests across all phases of project development
• Lead project teams through entitlement, permitting, design development, and construction execution
• Oversee consultant coordination, including civil engineers, architects, and specialty designers
• Manage and track project budgets, cash flows, and cost reporting from early feasibility to final closeout
• Monitor project schedules and hold contractors accountable to key milestones
• Conduct routine site visits and lead jobsite meetings to ensure progress, quality, and safety compliance
• Review and negotiate change orders, pay applications, and contracts with contractors and vendors
• Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, including development, leasing, finance, and property management
• Ensure timely project closeout, punch list completion, and transition to property operations

What You’ll Need:

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management or as an owner’s rep in commercial real estate
• Demonstrated success managing ground-up developments across retail, office, or mixed-use asset types
• Strong understanding of entitlement processes, construction sequencing, and municipal coordination
• Excellent project budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiation skills
• Working knowledge of design documents and ability to review architectural and engineering plans
• Proficiency in project management platforms and reporting tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Excel)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
• Valid U.S. work authorization and driver’s license; ability to travel regionally as needed (up to 25%)
