Development Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and strategic Development Manager to lead our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. In this pivotal role, you will develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and stakeholders, and oversee a variety of revenue-generating activities. Your leadership will ensure the organization’s financial sustainability while advancing its mission through innovative campaigns, effective relationship management, and targeted outreach. Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with organizational goals, including major gifts, planned giving, and grant proposals.
• Manage donor relations by cultivating relationships, stewarding existing supporters, and identifying new prospects through research and outreach efforts.
• Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring seamless coordination from concept to post-event follow-up.
• Lead digital marketing initiatives utilizing email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp to engage audiences across social media channels and websites built on WordPress.
• Write compelling grant proposals, reports, and donor communications to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
• Utilize CRM software like DonorPerfect and other databases for data collection, management, reporting, and analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors on marketing campaigns, public relations efforts, and volunteer management to enhance visibility and engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in nonprofit management with a strong background in fundraising, donor relations, and database management systems such as DonorPerfect or Raiser's Edge.
• Demonstrated success in event planning, major gift solicitation, proposal writing, and grant proposal development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive messages for diverse audiences.
• Strong negotiation skills coupled with strategic planning abilities to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Familiarity with digital marketing tools including Canva, WordPress, social media management platforms, and email marketing strategies through Constant Contact.
• Experience in research techniques for donor prospecting and data collection to support fundraising initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in budgeting, reporting, and database management.
• Knowledge of nonprofit industry standards related to planned giving, estate planning, volunteer management, and university or academic settings is a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
