Vico Homes is built on the foundations of WDH. We are looking for a Development Manager (New Business) to join our Development Team .

A home is more than four walls and a roof. It should be a safe place. A place to start things. A place of opportunities. A place to grow. A place where you feel you belong.

These are the places we provide for today and for the future. This is what marks us out as one of the leading players in the social housing sector. We have over 32,000 homes across the north of England, home to tens of thousands of people. And people are at the centre of what we do.

Our people are approachable and professional. But we’re not afraid to be optimistic and show our passion for what we do to support our customers. We share a common vision, acting confidently to ensure we remain at the forefront of making it happen.

Together, we’re building better futures and vibrant communities.

About the role

As the Development Manager (New Business) your manager will be our Head of New Business and Delivery. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area with our Head Office in Castleford.

It is an exciting time to join Vico Homes. As a Homes England Strategic Partner, we have secured £250 million of Homes England funding to significantly increase the supply of high-quality affordable homes across the region. Through our ambitious Future Homes Plan, we will deliver more than 10,000 homes by 2036, helping to tackle the housing crisis and create places to be proud of.

The Development Manager (New Business) is a high-profile opportunity to help shape and deliver Vico Homes’s programme to support an ambitious pipeline of new-build development, build strong external partnerships and help create vibrant communities and better futures for our customers.

What you’ll do

As a Homes England Strategic Partner, Vico Homes has secured £250m in grant funding to enable our Homes’ Growth Strategy programme of 10,000 new affordable homes by 2036. You will help translate this significant investment into a deliverable pipeline, ensuring schemes are financially viable, well governed and compliant with Homes England requirements, whilst building effective relationships with developers, landowners, local authorities and other key partners to maximise housing delivery and achieve the organisation’s long-term growth ambitions.

What we’re looking for

To be considered for the role you will have significant experience in identifying land and development opportunities, experience of the pre-contract process with good understanding of JCT contracts and Development Agreements as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislative planning frameworks, regulatory requirements and key issues relevant to new build development and Homes England funding programmes.

It is essential that you have previous managerial experience and be highly ambitious with an appreciation of the challenges of delivering our business strategy and plans in a competitive landscape.

We are looking for candidates with the right skills, relevant experience in a multi-disciplinary environment and most importantly someone who has our values:

  • Confident with a “can do” approach
  • United in our vision for creating places to be proud of
  • Ambitious in our aim of delivering more than 1,500 homes over 3 years.
  • Caring and working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
