Development Manager in the Development Office [Ref.: R/284/26]

To further strengthen the fast-developing institutional advancement functions of the University, we are looking for a seasoned and dynamic professional with experience in fundraising/partnership development or institutional advancement to take up a key position in the Development Office.

Duties

Reporting to the Director (Development Office), the appointee will play a key role in advancing the University’s fundraising and institutional development priorities.

S/he will be responsible for:

1. Developing and implementing fundraising and engagement strategies for individual, corporate and institutional prospects;
2. Identifying, cultivating and managing relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations and other key stakeholders;
3. Exploring and developing strategic partnerships that advance the University’s priorities and create mutual value for stakeholders;
4. Supporting senior University management, faculties and colleges in donor cultivation, gift solicitation and partnership development activities;
5. Coordinating special projects and initiatives involving external stakeholders and cross-functional teams; and
6. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s degree or above, with at least 10 years’ post-qualification working experience in fundraising/business development/strategic partnerships/institutional advancement or related fields;
2. Proven experience in building and managing relationships with senior executives/business leaders/philanthropists/foundations or other strategic stakeholders;
3. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and develop opportunities that advance institutional objectives;
4. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders;
5. Strong organisational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; and
6. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in strategic partnerships/business development/corporate engagement/institutional advancement or fundraising in higher education/non-profit or commercial sectors.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
