Development Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for passionate Platform Engineers to strengthen our central IT and software engineering capabilities by designing, building and operating scalable platform solutions that enable software development teams across the organization. You will provide secure, automated and standardized development platforms based on GitHub, Microsoft Azure and SAP BTP together with Infrastructure as Code, developer tooling and self-service capabilities that improve productivity, delivery speed, quality and operational reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain development platforms on GitHub, Microsoft Azure, and SAP BTP.
• Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Develop reusable templates, tools, and self-service capabilities for development teams.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and platform automation.
• Monitor platform performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensure service reliability.
• Implement security, governance, and compliance standards across platform services.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve productivity and developer experience.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps.
• Platform Engineering: Automation, standardization, self-service, and platform reliability.
• Cloud & Development Platforms: GitHub, SAP BTP, Microsoft Azure, repositories, and governance.
• DevOps & Automation: CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Python, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript.
• Containerization: Docker, container image management, container security, and basic orchestration concepts.
• Security & Operations: Secure platform design, monitoring, logging, and operational support.
• Good English communication skills.
• German language skills are an advantage.
