Devops Architect (Java)

Responsibilities

• Define, document and continuously improve the technical architecture of business-critical applications and APIs.
• Design and maintain reliable, scalable Java/Spring applications and REST APIs.
• Drive technical architecture decisions and ensure solutions are production-ready.
• Manage application delivery and deployment to production, with a strong focus on automation, reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects and external vendors throughout the development lifecycle.
• Implement monitoring, observability and alerting capabilities to proactively identify performance and reliability issues.
• Diagnose production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and coordinate appropriate solutions.
• Develop and maintain configuration and security components.
• Promote DevOps best practices, automation and data-driven decision-making.

Profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience in software engineering, application architecture and DevOps environments .
• Excellent expertise in Java, Spring, JVM technologies and REST API design .
• Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, Docker and application deployment/build pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Experience with reverse proxies and networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus or Icinga.
• Knowledge of security technologies including OIDC/OAuth 2.0, TLS/SSL, certificates and network security is an advantage.
• Experience with AWS/Azure, GitHub workflows, Python/Bash, Infrastructure as Code, Kafka or NoSQL technologies is a plus.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.

📍Geneva / Residence in Switzerland is mandatory at the start of the assignment
