This is a DevOps for Data Engineering role. You will not be a general infrastructure operator—you will build and maintain the DevOps foundation that enables data engineers to develop, deploy, and run data pipelines and analytics platforms across hybrid on-premise and Google Cloud (GCP) environments .

You will work closely with data engineers and architects to deliver automated, secure, observable, and cloud-native solutions that allow teams to deploy data products safely and at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and support DevOps capabilities for data engineering workloads (pipelines, orchestration, analytics)
• Build and manage GCP-based infrastructure for data platforms (compute, storage, networking, IAM)
• Own GitHub as the core engineering platform (repo structure, branching, PRs, reviews, releases, automation)
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data pipelines and infrastructure deployments
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) for hybrid and cloud environments
• Build and operate containerized platforms using Docker and Kubernetes
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines and platform health
• Ensure security, access control, and compliance across the data platform
• Optimize performance, scalability, and cost of cloud data workloads
• Collaborate closely with data engineers and architects to enable self-service and reliable delivery

🛠 Main requirements:

We are looking for DevOps / Platform / SRE Engineers with experience supporting cloud and platform environments, ideally with exposure to data engineering platforms.

• Strong experience with GitHub (PRs, code reviews, CI/CD integrations, repository governance)
• Solid cloud background (AWS, Azure or GCP), with GCP considered a strong advantage
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and/or data platforms
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform or similar tools)
• Strong Linux skills and automation using Python, Bash, or similar
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting in distributed systems
• Understanding of security, networking, and access management in enterprise environments

☁️ GCP note:

If you do not yet have GCP experience but are motivated to learn it, we provide support and training, as GCP is a key technology within the role.

🌟 Nice to have:

• GCP certifications (Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect, etc.)
• Experience with data platforms such as BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Storage
• Exposure to orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, Cloud Composer)
• Experience supporting or integrating data pipelines and workflows
• Familiarity with big data and distributed systems
• Experience building self-service platforms for data teams

Location : Bucharest (2 or 3 days per week in the office)
