DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage containerization systems such as Docker and Kubernetes to facilitate scalable application deployment.
• Automate deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, and PowerShell to ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Manage cloud infrastructure across platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, and private cloud environments like VMware.
• Monitor system performance with tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and IT monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and optimize system health.
• Develop scripts using Bash (Unix shell), Python, Groovy, Ruby, Perl, Go, C#, and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
• Administer enterprise software including WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle databases, and related middleware components.
• Implement security best practices by configuring firewalls, managing identity & access management (IAM), DNS settings, disaster recovery plans, and ensuring cloud security compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure or OpenStack.
• Strong knowledge of containerization systems like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with build automation tools including Maven, Gradle, Jenkins or TFS for continuous integration pipelines.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python or Ruby for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with enterprise software environments like WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat along with web services (RESTful API) and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure management covering Linux/Unix administration and virtualization technologies like VMware or Virtualization platforms.
• Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle; knowledge of SQL/PLSQL/T-SQL is essential.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to system testing, high availability configurations and disaster recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies including Scrum or Kanban; experience with requirements gathering and incident management processes is advantageous.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
