DevOps Engineer

This is an excited role for a Mid/Senior DevOps to join our team on a permanent basis and make a huge impact on our current projects. You will be part of a team that is creating impressive cloud-based TV services that deliver online entertainment to TV s, smartphones, tablets, browsers and more. This role will give you international, client facing exposure as well as ample growth opportunities within Ovyo. You will need to have impeccable verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well with tight schedules and rapid development cycles. You will need to be independent and poses excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance our ability to offer relevant and customised products and services to our customers
• Undertake hands on design of CI/CD from principles/ways of working to detailed tool configuration and deployment
• Engineer complete CD solution (and, where applicable, CI solutions) using a combination of open-source and commercial technologies and in house developed tools as appropriate
• Improve our Time-to-Market through a more agile IT architecture
• Champion push button deployment, consistent and careful management of code and environments, and efficient testing across integrated platforms and teams
• Take responsibility for a high-performance culture and ensure our delivery partners and product vendors are aligned to our business objectives while delivering solutions
• Train and support other delivery teams in the use of selected tooling
• Develop and maintain the automated provisioning of responsible components
• Ensure all systems are highly available, resilient and backed up

Required Experience:

• Must have experience of at least 5 years years in Azure / AWS or GCP Cloud
• Good knowledge of PaaS offerings (AWS Preferred)
• Experience with systems services monitoring tools and in log analysis
• Experience with DevOps best practices
• Knowledge in orchestration of Docker containers
• Ability to express and understand complex technical concepts
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure provisioning tools, Terraform specifically
• Experience in Kubernetes
• Fluency in automating manual jobs using scripting languages (Bash, Python, Powershell preferred)
• A passion for new technology and the emerging media landscape
• Experience with Content Distribution Networks (Akamai highly desirable)
• Good Experience in CloudFront
• Knowledge on Route53 / Global Traffic Routing
• Knowledge on WAF (Web Application Firewalls)

Bonus knowledge:

• Knowledge of GitHub/GitHub Actions/Atlassian/Bamboo and release management
• Knowledge of best practice for cloud IT security
• Knowledge of NoSQL database (MongoDB preferred)
• Linux server management
