DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead DevOps Engineer to oversee the operational management, security, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of cloud platforms supporting Ting, Wine World, and the Incentive App Platform.

The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, scalability, and resilience of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud environments while implementing DevSecOps best practices, release governance controls, monitoring frameworks, disaster recovery readiness, and cost optimization initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with application development teams, external service providers, business stakeholders, and infrastructure partners to ensure operational excellence across cloud-hosted platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud environments.
• Manage Azure subscriptions and cloud resources.
• Maintain virtual networks, security groups, firewalls, application gateways, and cloud storage services.
• Oversee backup and recovery operations.
• Implement infrastructure performance tuning and optimization.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.

Kubernetes Administration (AKS & GKE)

• Manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters.
• Perform cluster upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Manage ingress controllers and load balancing configurations.
• Configure and maintain autoscaling capabilities.
• Support container backup and restoration processes.
• Implement Kubernetes security best practices and workload hardening.

DevOps & CI/CD Management

• Administer Azure DevOps repositories and pipelines.
• Maintain YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage branching strategies and repository governance.
• Ensure build validations and deployment approvals are enforced.
• Manage release automation and deployment controls.
• Support self-hosted build and deployment agents.

Release Governance & Deployment Assurance

• Establish and maintain release governance standards.
• Review release readiness and change validation requirements.
• Manage deployment approval workflows.
• Coordinate production and non-production releases.
• Ensure rollback procedures are documented and tested.
• Maintain deployment audit trails and release documentation.
• Conduct post-release validation and reporting.

DevSecOps & Security

• Implement secure DevOps practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Manage SonarQube and application code quality frameworks.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security reviews.
• Implement and maintain: Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Container Security Scanning, Dependency Scanning, Secrets Detection & Security Gates within CI/CD pipelines
• Support compliance and governance initiatives.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Develop operational dashboards and alerting mechanisms.
• Monitor APIs and system integrations.
• Manage incident investigation and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Coordinate resolution of critical service outages.
• Ensure SLA targets are consistently achieved.

FinOps & Cost Optimization

• Monitor cloud expenditure across Azure and Google Cloud.
• Conduct regular cloud cost reviews.
• Identify rightsizing and optimization opportunities.
• Recommend Reserved Instance and savings plan strategies.
• Produce monthly cost optimization reports.

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain architecture documentation.
• Develop and update operational runbooks and SOPs.
• Ensure Disaster Recovery documentation remains current.
• Support audits and compliance reviews.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Coordinate periodic disaster recovery exercises.
• Validate Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
• Manage backup restoration testing.
• Produce disaster recovery reports and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Hands-on experience managing production Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes-based platforms (AKS and/or GKE).
• Proven experience managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps platforms.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Experience managing cloud cost optimization initiatives.
