DevOps Engineer

About the role

DevOps Engineer role focused on infrastructure, cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, reliability, incident response, security, cost and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provision and maintain AWS infrastructure with Terraform: networking, EKS, RDS, S3, ECR, CloudFront, Route 53, ACM, SES, IAM and Lambda
• Manage DNS, certificates and domain changes safely, including cutovers and redirects, with low TTL planning and rollback
• Operate Amazon SES: sender identity, DKIM, SPF, DMARC, bounce and complaint handling, and sending reputation
• Support the media pipeline: S3 buckets and lifecycle rules, Lambda functions and Amazon Rekognition usage and cost
• Maintain RDS: backups, snapshots, restore tests, parameter and version upgrades, read replicas and performance tuning with the application team
• Run and upgrade EKS clusters, node groups and Karpenter provisioners; tune requests, limits and autoscaling
• Maintain Kustomize and Helm manifests and Argo CD applications for each service and environment (stage and production)
• Build and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines (build, test, scan, push to ECR, deploy through Argo CD) and shared reusable workflows
• Build and maintain Grafana dashboards, Prometheus alerts and Loki log queries for each service; define SLOs for key journeys such as login, registration and payment
• Take part in an on-call rotation; lead incident response, write post-incident reviews and track follow-up actions

About you

• 2 to 3 years of hands-on DevOps, SRE or cloud engineering experience running production workloads
• Working knowledge of AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, IAM, VPC networking, ECR, CloudWatch, SES and Lambda
• Kubernetes in production, ideally on EKS: deployments, services, ingress, config and secrets, autoscaling, troubleshooting pods and nodes
• Terraform (or similar infrastructure-as-code) with remote state and modules
• Docker and container image build practices
• CI/CD with GitHub and GitHub Actions; Git workflows and pull-request review
• Experience with Argo CD or another GitOps tool
• Monitoring and logging with Grafana and Prometheus (or equivalent such as CloudWatch, Loki)
• Strong Linux skills and scripting in Bash and/or Python
• Clear written and spoken English; able to document and explain technical decisions
