DevOps Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and take ownership of our cloud infrastructure across AWS and Huawei Cloud. In this role, you will design, automate, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable environments on both platforms, manage our CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with development and QA teams to ensure smooth and dependable releases to production.

What You’ll Do:

Day to Day

• Set up and look after our cloud environments on AWS and Huawei Cloud, from servers and networks to storage and databases.
• Write and maintain our infrastructure as code (Terraform), so every environment is consistent and easy to rebuild.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines that help our team ship updates quickly and with confidence.
• Run and manage our containers with Docker and Kubernetes on both clouds (Amazon EKS and Huawei Cloud CCE).
• Take care of networking and connectivity, including secure links between our AWS and Huawei Cloud environments.
• Set up monitoring, alerts, and logging so we spot problems early, ideally before our users do.
• Plan backups and disaster recovery so we’re always ready if something goes wrong.
• Support our compliance with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) requirements by implementing security controls, keeping audit evidence up to date, and helping during internal and external audits.
• Help resolve incidents when they happen, find the root cause, and make sure they don’t repeat.
• Keep an eye on cloud costs and find smart ways to save without losing performance.
• Write clear documentation and runbooks, and be a helpful go-to person for the team on anything infrastructure.

Requirements:

Experience

• 3+ years of DevOps / SRE / Cloud Engineering experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on production experience with both AWS and Huawei Cloud; strong experience in one platform with practical exposure to the other will be considered.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated environment is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS, ELB, Route 53, CloudWatch) and Huawei Cloud (ECS, VPC, IAM, OBS, RDS, CCE, ELB, AOM, LTS).
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform across both clouds; Ansible is a plus.
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS / CCE), and Helm in production.
• CI/CD: Building and maintaining pipelines with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Huawei CodeArts.
• Observability: Metrics, logging, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, or LTS.
• Security & Compliance: IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, and encryption, with working knowledge of PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations.
• Networking: DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, and site-to-site VPN.
• Linux & Scripting: Strong Linux administration with Bash and Python.
• Backup & Recovery: Backup, restore, and high-availability setup for PostgreSQL and other critical services.

Nice to Have

• AWS certification (SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect – Associate) and/or Huawei HCIA / HCIP – Cloud Service.
• GitOps tooling (Argo CD / Flux).
• Operating message brokers and caching layers (RabbitMQ / Kafka / Redis).
• Edge security services (WAF / CDN / Anti-DDoS).
