DevOps Engineer (Contract)

Status – outside IR35

Location - London (Hybrid)

Working Pattern - 2 days per week onsite in London.

Tech Stack - Snowflake, Openflow, Python, Ruby, Kubernetes & Docker

We are working with a leading consultancy that is hiring a contract DevOps Engineer.

Working closely with data teams, including Data Engineers, you will build and maintain the infrastructure, pipelines and automation that allow them to ship reliable data products quickly and safely.

You will be responsible for:

• Building, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
• Supporting the Snowflake platform, including deployment automation, environment management and integration with Openflow.
• Containerising services with Docker and deploying and operating them on Kubernetes.
• Writing automation, tooling and scripts in Python and Ruby.
• Partnering with Data Engineers and wider data teams to streamline how data pipelines are built, tested and released.
• Improving the reliability, observability and security of the data platform and its supporting infrastructure.
• Promoting DevOps best practices, including infrastructure as code, version control and automated testing.

Key Skills

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, ideally supporting data platforms or data teams.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Openflow.
• Strong coding ability in Python and Ruby.
• Solid experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab and GitHub.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
• Comfortable working closely with Data Engineers and translating their needs into robust platform solutions.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
