Devops Engineer (Java)

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Technical Architects and Solution Architects to continuously improve front-end applications and APIs.

• Collaborate with third-party software vendors to integrate, support and maintain software components.

• Work alongside Software Engineers across all development activities related to applications and APIs.

• Manage and optimise the deployment of applications from development through to production, with a strong focus on automation, reliability and quality.

• Implement advanced monitoring, analytics and observability capabilities to provide proactive and predictive insights.

• Develop and maintain code related to configuration and security components.

• Investigate production incidents, conduct root-cause analyses and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement appropriate solutions.

• Guide Software Engineers on operational topics including reliability, maintainability, performance and production readiness.

• Promote DevOps and software engineering best practices, with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement.

• Encourage data-driven decision-making by defining and monitoring relevant technical and operational metrics.

• In-depth software engineering knowledge and expertise across development, maintenance and continuous improvement.

• Strong experience with Java, Spring, the JVM and related Java technologies.

• Strong experience with REST APIs, including API design, versioning and maintenance, as well as good networking knowledge.

• Strong experience with reverse proxies such as Apache.

• Proficiency with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and Oracle.

• Practical experience with build pipelines, Java application delivery and deployments to Linux or Kubernetes environments.

• Experience with monitoring, observability and alerting platforms such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus or Icinga.

• Strong team spirit, autonomy, organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Master’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and/or English.

Nice to have:

• Interest in finance and/or good knowledge of financial environments.

• Knowledge of OpenID Connect (OIDC) and OAuth 2.0 authentication protocols.

• Experience with TLS/SSL, certificates and encryption.

• Experience with GitHub workflows.

• Knowledge of network security and firewalls.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployments, particularly AWS and/or Azure.

• Knowledge of containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.

• Experience with Python and/or Bash scripting.

• Strong understanding of automation, Infrastructure as Code and XaaS principles, including tools such as Puppet.

• Knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch.

• Hands-on experience working with Agile methodologies.
