Your Task

As DevOps Engineer, you will develop advanced technical solutions for the expansion and operation of infrastructure/services, taking them to the next level of quality. For the cloud-native based production environment of packet Core incl. 5G-SA, you will prepare the procedures for the complete life cycle and be the contact person for planning, system integration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support highly complex projects directly by overseeing development, quality assurance, planning, implementation and maintenance of product releases
• Develop and create strategies for automated integration and delivery, including the cross-project infrastructure and tool suite
• Focus on harmonized automation frameworks and cloud-native functions in Packet Core to ensure efficient and reliable automated deployment processes
• Elaborate on the development of new deployment strategies and disaster recovery plans, ensuring they align with the overall goals and requirements
• Work closely with the operations team to deploy planned solutions, improve process efficiency, and deeply engage with innovative topics and concepts
• Ensure a high degree of digitization in support processes

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with extensive knowledge in cloud-native technologies, mobile packet core systems, and automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should have a strong educational background in computer science, several years of DevOps experience, and expertise in container orchestration and microservices architecture.

Must Have Skills

• University degree with a focus on computer science or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the DevOps environment
• Excellent understanding of the architecture, interfaces and call flows of ePC and 5GC including interaction to surrounding systems
• Profound experience with cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenStack
• Knowledge in Packet Data Core systems
• Extensive knowledge of Helm, Istio, Prometheus, and Flux
• Good knowledge of microservice architecture and the maintenance of cloud-based applications
• In-depth expertise with monitoring systems and their evaluations
• Long-standing routine in 2nd or 3rd-level support in Mobile Packet Core systems
• Very good experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
• Very good skills in English (writing and speaking)
• Willingness to travel

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in scripting with Python
• Basic skills in German (mainly speaking)
