DevOps Engineer | Contract | Gov

The DevOps Engineer will be a senior technical specialist responsible for cloud operations, automation, security, monitoring, CI/CD, platform reliability, and operational support within a commercial cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and release management.

Manage cloud infrastructure, containers and environments across development, testing and production.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency.

Monitor system performance, availability and reliability; troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.

Support security compliance, vulnerability remediation, certificate renewal, secrets management and access controls.

Handle production support, disaster recovery, incident management and infrastructure changes.

Collaborate with developers, technical leads and solution architects to ensure platform stability and continuous improvement.

Maintain technical documentation, deployment guides and operational runbooks.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud, Infrastructure or Platform Engineering.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Government Commercial Cloud.

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Bicep.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and scripting using Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Knowledge of cloud security, vulnerability management, IAM and DevSecOps practices.

Strong troubleshooting, incident management and stakeholder communication skills

Experience supporting government, MINDEF/SAF, GovTech or other regulated environments.

Experience with mission-critical, high-availability systems and restricted networks.

Familiarity with security automation and DevSecOps pipelines.
