What they need
Company Description DOJU HEALTH is focused on transforming healthcare access across Africa by simplifying how individuals, clinics, and hospitals source medical and wellness essentials. Through a centralized digital platform, DOJU HEALTH connects users with trusted vendors, making it easier to discover, order, and receive healthcare products. The organization aims to reduce the stress, delays, and fragmentation that often affect medical supply chains. By streamlining these processes, DOJU HEALTH is building a smarter, more reliable, and more accessible healthcare supply experience for communities across the continent.
Role Description The DevOps Engineer (volunteer) will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of DOJU HEALTH’s cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. In this part-time, remote role, the engineer will collaborate with developers to automate builds, testing, and releases, ensuring reliable and scalable delivery of platform features. Day-to-day tasks may include configuring CI/CD workflows, managing infrastructure as code, monitoring system performance and reliability, and improving security and compliance within the environment. The DevOps Engineer will also help troubleshoot production issues, optimize resource usage, and document processes to support smooth operations for the broader technical team.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and environment automation.
- Experience with common DevOps tools (e.g., Git, GitHub/GitLab, CI servers, containerization tools like Docker, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and basic knowledge of networking, security groups, and access control.
- Ability to script or program in languages commonly used for automation (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar) and manage configuration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or equivalent) to maintain system reliability.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
- Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with product, engineering, and operations stakeholders.
- Prior experience in healthcare, supply chain, or startups is beneficial but not required; a demonstrated interest in improving healthcare access in Africa is a plus.
