About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Platform / DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in XML technologies, automation, and cloud operations. The ideal candidate will work on the XML data layer and automation backbone that ensures enterprise content synchronization, validation, and operational reliability across systems.

This role combines XML engineering, DevOps practices, automation, and cloud operations with a strong focus on data correctness, scalability, and system reliability.

Team Context

The team builds and operates the capability that keeps enterprise content correct, synchronized, and trusted across the organization.

Team scope includes:

• Content synchronization and validation

• Automation and monitoring

• Root cause analysis of synchronization issues

The team primarily works on XML-based technologies, focusing on data correctness, operational automation, and cloud-based infrastructure. The team does not cover content authoring or UI development, but instead ensures the technical backbone behind enterprise content systems is reliable, scalable, and operationally efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain XQuery and XPath logic for XML-driven synchronization and validation

• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot XML queries and workflows

• Work with XML databases to ensure data consistency, correctness, scalability, and performance

• Support automation of deployment, configuration, and operational processes

• Contribute to packaging, release management, and deployment of platform components

• Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of synchronization and validation issues

• Support monitoring, alerting, and day-to-day operational activities on GCP

• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and engineering teams for infrastructure and deployment improvements

• Maintain Linux-based operational environments and automation scripts

• Improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency of XML processing systems

• Participate in troubleshooting production issues and implementing preventive solutions

• Support CI/CD and infrastructure automation initiatives where applicable

Must Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with XQuery and XPath

• Solid experience with XML databases such as MarkLogic, BaseX, or eXist-db

• Strong understanding of XML data modeling, querying, transformation, and validation

• Experience working in Linux operational environments

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Experience in automation and operational support environments

Good to Have Skills

• Ansible for automation and configuration management

• Shell scripting using Bash

• Experience with RPM packaging

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Knowledge of monitoring and operational tooling

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Java applications, especially XML processing or integration-heavy systems

• Exposure to cloud-native operational practices

• Experience working in data synchronization or validation platforms

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in XML technologies, DevOps, or platform engineering

• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities

• Ability to work independently in an off-site distributed environment

• Good communication and collaboration skills

• Immediate or early joiners preferred
