What they need

About the Company

Antidote Health is a tech-driven health insurance company on a mission to make healthcare easier, accessible, and more affordable. We’re rethinking how healthcare works—using technology to remove the friction, complexity, and delays that define the traditional system. Instead of navigating paperwork, long waits, and disconnected experiences, we’re building a simpler, more connected way for people to get care.

Our platform combines health coverage, virtual care, and a modern member experience into one seamless system designed to help people use their benefits.

We offer the Affordable Care Act (ACA) health plans in Arizona and Ohio, and we’re growing quickly. We’re building a company focused on solving real problems with a real impact on people’s lives.

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Manager to lead and grow our DevOps team while staying deeply involved in technical execution. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, impact-driven, and energized by building reliable platforms, improving developer experience, and supporting a fast-paced product organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and team development: Lead, hire, coach, and grow a team of DevOps engineers, including performance management, career development, and day-to-day support.
  • Hands-on technical ownership: Balance people leadership with direct technical execution, including coding, architecture ownership, and deep involvement in platform decisions.
  • Platform architecture: Drive architectural decisions for platform primitives, evaluate trade-offs, and build alignment across engineering teams.
  • Engineering culture: Mentor engineers through pair programming, code reviews, technical guidance, and strong engineering practices.
  • Reliability and operations: Define reliability standards, establish SLOs, lead blameless postmortems, and drive systemic improvements.
  • Cloud and infrastructure: Manage Kubernetes (GKE) control plane and cluster-level primitives while owning infrastructure-as-code standards with Terraform and Helm.
  • GitOps and automation: Enforce GitOps practices across the organization and improve the delivery experience for engineering teams.
  • Observability and data infrastructure: Build and maintain observability capabilities, including structured logging, metrics pipelines, alerting, SLO tracking, data pipelines, and embedding stores as infrastructure services.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.
  • 5+ years of experience leading DevOps teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, career development, and day-to-day team support.
  • Strong Kubernetes expertise, including cluster administration, operators, admission controllers, and networking.
  • Experience building developer tooling or internal platforms, such as CLIs, service catalogs, or self-service portals.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform and Helm, plus GitOps experience with ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD systems and how to design pipelines as platform primitives.
  • Proficiency with GCP services, including GKE, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, IAM, VPC, and Secret Manager.
  • Software engineering skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to write production-quality code for platform work.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a healthcare or regulated environment, such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
  • Experience leading on-call operations and serving as an incident commander during production events.

Equal Opportunity Statement

Antidote Health is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, military reserve duty, or any other protected status under applicable law.
