• Rate: £700 to £900 per day

We are seeking a high-performing Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer to join a global trading production environment in London. If you excel in high-pressure trading room environments and possess a deep background in market data infrastructure and electronic trading connectivity, this contract is built for you.

The Role Overview;

As a hands-on Engineer within a global, high-performing team, you will proactively manage critical end-to-end workflows to continuously improve the stability and resilience of our global derivatives trading production environment. You will turn quick, day-to-day operational fixes into robust, scalable engineering solutions while working directly alongside traders, developers, and technical business users.

What You Will Do:

• FIX Engineering & Connectivity: Leverage 3+ years of dedicated FIX engineering experience to handle exchange and vendor certification, session debugging, and network protocols (TCP, multicast).
• Market Data Distribution: Manage and support enterprise-level Real-Time Distribution Systems (RTDS), including DACS, ADH, and ADS components.
• Algorithmic Support: Provide hands-on operational support for scalable algorithmic trading technology in compliance with RTS6 and strict audit regulations.
• Analytics Frameworks: Maintain and troubleshoot critical low-latency time-series analytical frameworks like kdb+ or Shakti.
• Continuous Reliability: Own the reliability engineering backlog, proactively monitoring production systems, performing root-cause analysis, and acting as part of a global on-call rotation.

What We Need From You:

• Industry Experience: Minimum 6+ years of Front Office application support experience within Commodity Trading, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of major global futures exchanges, full exchange-traded derivatives trade lifecycles, and Front Office workflows (order capture, execution, allocation, settlement).
• Vendor Ecosystems: Hands-on experience with EMS/OMS software vendors and third-party networks (eg, TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen).
• Technical Mastery: Experience managing multicast data traffic, message queueing, and developing custom script automation to optimize ways of working.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills under demanding deadlines, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive directly on a fast-paced trading floor.
