DevOps Release Manager / Lead / Developer

Role & responsibilities

Own the end to end Deployment / Release process Responsible for scheduling, planning, and controlling the software's development and delivery process. Build release calendars, set deployment windows, and map out timelines across development, testing, and operations teams. Act as the central bridge between developers, quality assurance (QA), product owners, and business stakeholders Identify potential deployment blockers, manage change approval processes (like Change Advisory Board meetings), and create fallback or rollback plans Verify that code meets security, regulatory, and testing standards before it goes live Track deployment metrics, gather post-release feedback, and optimize automation tools to make future releases smoother Responsible for handling the DevOps team to make them deliver the services on time and will manage both IT operations and developers

Technical Skills:

CI/CD Pipelines: Experience building, managing, and optimizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI to automate deployments Version Control Systems: Proficiency with Git and branching strategies (tagging, semantic versioning, and release branching) to track code changes across teams. Cloud & Containerization: Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container tools like Docker and Kubernetes for modern cloud-native rollouts. Release Orchestration Platforms: Familiarity with specialized release management software Automation Scripting: Basic programming or scripting capability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to troubleshoot and automate routine deployment steps Environment & Configuration Management: Understanding how to manage Dev, Test, Staging, and Production environments while avoiding configuration drift. Observability & Monitoring: Literacy in reading application logs, metrics, and traces to verify build health post-deployment.
