DevOps / SRE Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a strong DevOps Engineer who can take ownership of building and operating modern cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who is not only hands-on, but also able to think at system level, make technical decisions, and drive improvements across environments.

You will work closely with engineering teams to design, build, and scale reliable, high-performance systems on GCP, leveraging Kubernetes and GitOps practices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Production Operations : Own the day-to-day reliability of the ecommerce platform — monitor, triage, and resolve incidents across services, infrastructure, and third-party integrations.
• Deployment & Release Management : Manage the GitOps delivery pipeline (ArgoCD, Kustomize) across all environments, ensuring safe, zero-downtime, and auditable releases.
• Infrastructure as Code : Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform), keeping every environment reproducible and drift-free.
• Observability & Alerting : Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing (Datadog) so issues are caught before customers are impacted, and drive MTTR down over time.
• Security & Compliance : Manage secrets, IAM, network policy, and WAF/CDN configuration, enforcing least-privilege access across all clusters and environments.
• Reliability Engineering : Define SLOs/SLIs, run disaster-recovery drills, manage capacity/cost optimization, and lead blameless postmortems for continuous improvement.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and cloud cost at scale.
• Collaborate with developers to improve system architecture and deployment workflows. Contribute to technical decisions and continuously improve DevOps practices across teams.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• GCP : Strong hands-on production experience with GCP(GKE, VPC, IAM, CloudSQL, etc) including deployments, ingress, autoscaling, and troubleshooting.
• Communication : Good English is required.
• Experience : 3-5 years of experience in a similar DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role.
• GitOps & IaC : Proven experience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD or similar), Kustomize/Helm, and Terraform for managing multi-environment infrastructure.
• Microservices Operations : Experience operating and debugging distributed/microservices systems (REST and/or gRPC), including log and trace correlation.
• Observability : Expertise with an APM/observability stack (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar) — dashboards, alerting, and incident diagnosis.
• Security Fundamentals : Solid understanding of secrets management, IAM least-privilege, and network/WAF configuration (Cloudflare or similar).
• Technical Troubleshooting : Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving technical and production incidents effectively.
• Technical Communication : Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• GCP Certification : Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification required; Professional Cloud Security Engineer a plus.
• Cloudflare Skills : Hands-on experience managing DNS, CDN caching, WAF/firewall rules, and SSL/TLS configuration via the Cloudflare dashboard and API.
