What they need

DiscoverCars.com, a top global car rental marketplace, is looking for a forward-thinking and proactive DevSecOps Engineer to strengthen security across our technology ecosystem and support the secure adoption of AI.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys embedding security into how systems are built, deployed, and monitored, turning security requirements into practical solutions without slowing down innovation. You will work closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, and other teams to strengthen our security posture, improve DevSecOps practices, and help ensure our systems and AI initiatives are secure, resilient, and scalable.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.

  • Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, dependency management, and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Manage and enhance security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, and antivirus solutions.

  • Lead vulnerability management across cloud and on-premise environments, from identification and prioritization to remediation.

  • Lead AI security initiatives by securing AI/LLM tools and integrations, establishing AI governance and usage policies, and leveraging AI to enhance threat detection, log analysis, and security automation.

  • Strengthen network security through firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and access controls.

  • Maintain best practices for data protection, identity and access management, backup, and recovery.

  • Support ICT risk management and regulatory compliance, including DORA (EU 2022/2554) readiness for insurance operations.

  • Communicate security risks, requirements, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Continuously improve security processes, controls, and resilience while enabling teams to move quickly and safely.

Requirements:

  • Experience with cybersecurity operations, security tooling, system monitoring, and incident response.

  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, and antivirus solutions.

  • Strong understanding of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, network protocols, and access management.

  • Experience with Windows administration, cloud platforms, and SaaS environments.

  • Knowledge of data protection, identity and access management, backup, and recovery best practices.

  • Interest or experience in AI security, including securing AI/LLM tools and applying AI to security operations.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Commitment to security, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.

What we offer:

  • Salary € 4000 - 5500 (gross) based on skills and previous experience.

  • Opportunity to shape security strategy, systems, and processes across two growing international companies.

  • A culture that values initiative, ownership, and continuous improvement.

  • 8 hours of paid self-development time each month and access to professional training.

  • An international and multicultural team representing 40+ nationalities.

  • Paid health insurance after probation.

  • Regular team events, company celebrations, and recognition of work anniversaries.

  • Exclusive car rental rates for you, your family, and friends.

  • A modern office in Riga with complimentary snacks, drinks, and relaxation areas.
