POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced DGM / Project Head – Civil to lead the civil execution of a major 220 KV GIS Substation project in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, involving construction in hilly terrain.

The candidate must have strong experience in civil project planning, design coordination, execution and site management, preferably with exposure to large-scale power infrastructure / GIS substation projects and projects executed in Northern India, particularly hilly regions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall responsibility for civil project planning, execution and completion.
• Handle civil works for 220 KV GIS Substation projects; experience of handling minimum 10 GIS/substation projects will be highly preferred.
• Manage complete civil activities from design coordination to execution and final completion.
• Experience in hilly terrain construction and challenging site conditions in Northern India.
• Review and coordinate civil drawings, structural designs, BOQ, specifications and construction methodology.
• Supervise major civil construction activities including:
• Site development and excavation
• Earthwork and rock excavation
• RCC works
• Foundations
• Retaining structures / retaining walls
• Building and structural works
• Equipment foundations
• Drainage and other infrastructure works
• Strong exposure to large-scale ECC / construction projects.
• Manage site execution, planning, scheduling and resource deployment.
• Supervise and guide a minimum team of 5–6 engineers/supervisors and site personnel.
• Manage vendors, contractors and labour effectively.
• Monitor manpower productivity and contractor performance.
• Ensure availability and timely deployment of construction materials, machinery and manpower.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor work progress against project schedules.
• Ensure strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, BOQ and quality standards.
• Establish and maintain all required QA/QC checks, inspection procedures and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural designers, clients and other project stakeholders.
• Identify construction issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Monitor project progress, cost, quality and timelines.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports/MIS.
• Ensure proper documentation of measurements, approvals, inspections and project records.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and site safety procedures.
• Take complete ownership of civil execution and ensure timely project completion.

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• 15–20+ years of overall experience in civil construction/project execution.
• Strong experience in large-scale civil/EPC/ECC projects.
• Proven experience in 220 KV GIS Substation / Power Infrastructure projects.
• Candidate should preferably have handled minimum 10 GIS Substation / similar major projects.
• Strong exposure to civil works from design coordination through execution.
• Experience working in Northern India and hilly terrain is mandatory/preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience in:

Excavation | RCC | Foundations | Retaining Structures | Site Development | Structural & Civil Works

• Experience in site management, vendor management, contractor management and labour management.
• Should have independently supervised a team of at least 5–6 personnel.
• Hindi and English communication skills are mandatory.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be a senior civil professional with 15–20+ years of experience, who has independently handled large-scale civil/EPC projects and has strong exposure to 220 KV GIS Substations, excavation, RCC, foundations and retaining structures.

Candidates with proven experience of executing projects in hilly terrain of Northern India, along with strong site, contractor, vendor and labour management capabilities, will be strongly preferred.

Hindi and English proficiency is mandatory.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
