DGM/GM - Solar Modules -Sourcing, Procurement & Supplier Mngt

Define and execute the category sourcing strategy for solar modules and inverters supplier selection, dual/multi-sourcing, capacity tie-ups and long-term partnerships in India and overseas.

Build and manage the OEM/ODM ecosystem for inverters (grid-tied, hybrid and off-grid) covering product roadmap alignment, quality and customisation for the Indian market.

Ensure sourcing compliance with the applicable regulatory framework — ALMM, BIS, DCR and import/duty structures — and drive localisation where it creates advantage.

Evaluate make-vs-buy and backward-integration options and support strategic sourcing decisions with robust data.

2. Costing, Negotiation and Commercial Management

Build and maintain bottom-up cost models for solar modules — cell, glass, encapsulant, backsheet, frame, junction box, BOM and conversion costs — and should-cost models for inverters (power semiconductors, magnetics, PCBA, enclosures).

Track value-chain price trends — polysilicon, wafer, cell and module indices, key electronic components and commodities — and translate them into negotiation triggers and buying strategies.

Lead negotiations and contracting pricing, payment terms, warranties, service-level and supply commitments, with clear total-landed-cost ownership (duties, freight, inventory).

Deliver year-on-year cost improvement and margin support in line with business plans.

3. Quality, Supply Assurance and Cross-Functional Execution

Assure continuity of supply — demand-supply planning with S&OP, capacity booking, lead-time and inventory norms, and supply-risk mitigation.

Drive supplier quality and reliability with the quality team — audits, certifications (IEC/BIS), performance scorecards and structured corrective actions.

Partner with product management and R&D on new product introductions, ensuring sourcing readiness, cost targets and vendor qualification.

Institutionalise sourcing governance — reviews, dashboards and supplier relationship management — with high standards of integrity and compliance.
