About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Diamond & Gemstone Assorter + Stock Management professional to join our team in Bang Rak, Bangkok. This is a full-time position that combines sorting and grading gemstones with comprehensive stock management responsibilities. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and organisation of our inventory, ensuring accuracy across all gemstone classifications and supporting the smooth operation of our business.

What you'll be doing

• Sorting, grading, and classifying diamonds and gemstones according to industry standards and company specifications
• Assessing gemstone quality, colour, clarity, cut, and carat weight using professional tools and expertise
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all gemstone inventory using stock management systems
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting on inventory status to management
• Organising and storing gemstones in secure, climate-controlled conditions to maintain quality
• Conducting regular stock audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Preparing gemstones for sale or distribution, including packaging and labelling
• Liaising with sales and procurement teams regarding stock availability and requirements
• Maintaining meticulous documentation and ensuring compliance with industry regulations
• Supporting the team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in gemstone assessing, sorting, or grading (or equivalent training in gemmology)
• Strong knowledge of diamond and gemstone classifications, terminology, and industry standards
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and stock control procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with high-value items
• Ability to work methodically and maintain consistent quality standards
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software packages
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to handle gemstones and work at sorting stations for extended periods
• Integrity and trustworthiness when managing valuable inventory
• Previous experience in a similar role within the diamond or gemstone industry is preferred
• Gemmological certification or qualifications would be advantageous
