We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Diamond Purchaser to source and purchase high-quality natural diamonds, particularly IGI- and GIA-certified stones, through platforms such as RapNet and established diamond suppliers.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of diamond grading, pricing, certification, market trends, and supplier negotiation, with the ability to identify genuine diamonds and secure competitive purchasing prices.

Key Responsibilities

Source and purchase natural diamonds from trusted suppliers and manufacturers through RapNet and other industry networks.

Evaluate diamonds based on the 4Cs: Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut.

Purchase diamonds accompanied by valid IGI and GIA certificates.

Verify certificates, stone details, measurements, fluorescence, proportions, and grading information.

Compare RapNet listings and market prices to identify competitive buying opportunities.

Negotiate prices and payment terms with diamond suppliers.

Build and maintain strong relationships with reliable diamond dealers, manufacturers, and suppliers.

Inspect and verify diamonds before final purchase to ensure they match the certificate and agreed specifications.

Identify natural diamonds and avoid synthetic/lab-grown or treated stones when purchasing natural diamonds.

Maintain accurate records of purchased stones, supplier information, certificates, costs, and inventory.

Monitor diamond market prices and trends to make informed purchasing decisions.

Coordinate with management, sales, inventory, and quality-control teams regarding purchased stones.

Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of experience in diamond purchasing or diamond trading preferred.

Strong practical knowledge of natural diamonds.

Good understanding of GIA and IGI grading reports.

Experience using RapNet or similar diamond trading platforms.

Strong knowledge of diamond pricing and market discounts.

Ability to evaluate diamond quality and value accurately.

Excellent negotiation and supplier-management skills.

Good attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in stones or certificates.

Knowledge of natural vs. lab-grown diamonds and common treatments is highly preferred.

Strong communication and decision-making skills.

Existing relationships with reliable diamond suppliers will be an advantage.

The ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on experience in the diamond market, understands real/natural diamond pricing, knows how to source stones on RapNet, and can consistently purchase the right stones at competitive market prices.
