Die Cast Operator (Plant 3, 2nd Shift) (64697)

General Summary Inspects castings to ensure maintaining quality castings are being placed on the pallets for assigned machines.

Essential Functions

• Cleans flash, runners, flow pads off for assigned machines.
• Inspects castings to ensure there are no defects following the inspection standards for assigned machines.
• Perform machine start up under the direction of a qualified operator.
• Communicates with other operators to discuss any problems occurring with castings.
• Provides cleaning on and around die cast machine on a daily basis.
• Covers for breaks and lunch.
• Prepares appropriate daily paper work associated with the die cast operation.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions

• Periodically performs sort/reworks.
• Periodically provides assistance to die casters.

Working Conditions

• Plant conditions, including exposure to dirt, fumes, noise and cleaning chemicals.
• Walking regularly.
• Ability to lift and move 40-80 pounds.
• Regular kneeling, squatting or working in otherwise uncomfortable work positions.
• Standing and bending for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job as indicated on the physical requirement addendum for Die Cast Direct Labor.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma OR equivalent required.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Certified fork truck operator.
• Ability to use various hand tools.
• Must be able to pass necessary entry level assessments.
