Die corrector-Aluminium Extrusion

Review die drawings and specifications to understand profile geometry, tolerances, alloy, press requirements, and customer requirements.

 Inspect dies before production for dimensions, surface condition, bearing lengths, bridges, mandrels, and other critical features.

 Correct die openings and bearings by filing, polishing, stoning, grinding, or machining to achieve the required metal flow and profile dimensions.

 Diagnose extrusion defects such as dimensional variation, twist, bow, die lines, pickup, tearing, and uneven wall thickness; identify likely die-related causes.

 Make controlled die adjustments based on trial runs, measurements, and feedback from the press operator or quality team.

 Use measuring and inspection tools—such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and profile templates—to verify corrections and maintain dimensional accuracy.

 Work with production and quality teams to communicate die status, correction history, trial results, and any remaining issues.

 Maintain die records including inspection findings, modifications, repair details, and performance across production runs.

 Care for die-shop tools and equipment and follow safe work practices when handling dies, operating machines, and working with hot or sharp components.

 Support die maintenance and continuous improvement by identifying recurring problems, recommending preventive repairs, and helping reduce scrap, downtime, and repeat corrections.
