Die Cutting Machine Operator

Printex Transparent Packaging is seeking a mechanically inclined individual to set up and operate some of our die-cutting equipment in our Islandia, NY plant. This includes set up for make-ready on Bobst/Heidelberg die cutters for paperboard and plastic sheets and running the machines.

Previous experience in die-cutting or packaging manufacturing is an asset, but not essential if you have the aptitude and willingness to learn and grow with our small team. There is potential for growth in this role.

You must have attention to detail and a keen eye to ensure we produce a quality product. You should also be able to work independently.

We are a small efficient team where everyone performs multiple functions based on what is needed. Most of our employees have been with us for many years.

Overtime is often available for those interested.

Primarily a daytime position but occasional evening work could be requested.

Duties

• Review job write ups to ensure all customer specifications are met

• Set up make-ready on Bobst/Heidelberg die cutters for both paperboard and plastic sheets

• Maintains equipment by performing minor maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations, adjustments, repairs and authorized modifications

• Communicates relevant information to facilitate the flow of production

• Adherence to GMP’s and SOP’s to promote product safety, food safety and quality

• Perform regular inspections throughout the run to ensure die cuts/folds meets acceptable quality standards

Maximize production speeds while maintaining quality

Requirements

Summary

• Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00pm. Overtime is often available.
• Pay rate depends on your experience and ability
• Eligible for benefits after 3 months.
• Eligible for profit share after 2 years.
