Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Die Setter / Press Setup Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and maintaining various metal stamping presses and forming machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality metal components. Your expertise in machine operation, technical blueprint interpretation, and safety standards will drive our commitment to precision and excellence. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of press machines including stamping presses, forming machines, and press brake equipment to produce metal parts according to technical specifications.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately configure machinery for production runs.
• Perform precise measurement and quality inspections using measuring instruments and precision measurement tools to ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
• Adjust machine parameters, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously, including proper use of hand tools, safety equipment, and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
• Collaborate with team members on machine setup, tooling changes, and process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
• Maintain detailed documentation of setup procedures, inspection results, and production logs for traceability and continuous improvement.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Die Setter or Press Setup Technician in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutting equipment, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and other machining tools.
• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), shop math, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to machine operation, sheet metal fabrication, welding, forming machines, and measurement techniques.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement devices accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal fabrication processes including stamping, forming, welding, assembly, and sheet metal work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly while maintaining safety compliance.
