Diesel Generator (DG)

We are seeking a skilled and reliable DG Operator to manage and monitor our Diesel Generator sets at our facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted power supply for our 24x7 Data Centre operations. The ideal candidate will have robust technical knowledge of electrical engineering, practical experience in DG maintenance, and the ability to strictly follow safety protocols in a critical infrastructure setup.

Role & responsibilities

• DG Operation: Safely operate and monitor Diesel Generator (DG) sets to guarantee continuous, uninterrupted power supply.
• Inspection & Monitoring: Perform routine checks on operating parameters, including fuel levels, engine oil, coolant, and battery conditions.
• System Maintenance: Conduct planned preventive maintenance and execute basic troubleshooting of DG sets to minimize system downtime.
• Documentation: Maintain highly accurate DG operation logbooks, fuel tracking metrics, and daily maintenance records.
• Escalation & Reporting: Swiftly identify and report faults, active alarms, or performance abnormalities to the shift engineer.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to institutional safety guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Crisis Coordination: Collaborate efficiently with the larger maintenance team during unexpected equipment breakdowns and facility emergencies.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: More than 3 years of hands-on experience in DG operations and maintenance.
• Preferred Background: Exposure to critical environments like Data Centres, commercial real estate complexes, industrial facilities, or critical infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Shift Flexibility: Absolute willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
• Core Skills: Sound understanding of high-capacity generator systems, proactive reporting habits, and strong coordination skills.
• Geographic Preference: Residing in Bengaluru or fully willing to relocate immediately.
