Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Jeff Foster Trucking is a non-corporate, family-owned trucking company that has been serving the transportation needs of customers in the continental U.S. for 45+ years. We are looking for second shift Diesel Mechanics to grow with us!

This position is full-time, afternoon shift from 3PM-11PM. Must be willing to work weekends. Starting wage is $20 - $25+ per hour, but is dependent on skills and experience. Applicants are required to have their own tools.

Responsibilities:

• Inspecting and servicing the tractor and trailer fleet in compliance with company, federal, and industry standards.
• Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions, hydraulic and air systems for deficiencies.
• Repairing, replacing, or rebuilding engine, cooling system, air conditioning, fuel, electrical, driveline, and suspension components.
• Maximize equipment availability for the company.
• Assuring safety for self and coworkers
• Effective operation of the following equipment:
• Parts cleaners, high pressure cleaning equipment
• Hydraulic Presses
• Air, hydraulic jacks, safety stands
• Air/hand tools (drills, wrenches, grinders)
• Cutting/heating torches/welding equipment

Experience/Skills Required:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Applicants must possess own tools

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting: up to 100 pounds, seldomly
• Enter/exit vehicle cabs, decks, and on equipment as required
• Work above while laying underneath vehicle
• Able to climb into engine compartment
• Repeated bending, twisting, climbing, pulling, pushing, and stooping
