Job Summary:

As a Diesel Mechanic at Kelley Diesel & Auto Repair, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and related systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and systems (fuel, exhaust, electrical, cooling, etc.)
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
• Conduct brake system repairs and replacements
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues
• Perform engine rebuilds, injector replacements, and turbo repairs as needed
• Complete vehicle inspections and safety checks
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
• Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers regarding repairs and timelines
• Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Proficient with diesel engines, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
• Familiarity with Ford Power Stroke, Dodge Cummins, and GM Duramax systems is a plus
• Ability to read and understand service manuals and schematics
• Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Must have own tools (or ability to obtain them)
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• ASE Certification or equivalent is a plus

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, team-oriented repair shop
• Hands-on work with a variety of diesel and gas vehicles
• Occasional lifting (up to 75 lbs) and working in various weather conditions
