Diesel Mechanic Service Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks, including engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
• Conduct inspections using schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately.
• Repair or replace components such as shocks & struts, HVAC systems, wheel alignments, and tire services.
• Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques.
• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
• Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify mechanical or electrical issues.
• Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Assist with assembly and disassembly of components during repairs or upgrades.
• Support customer service efforts by providing professional communication regarding repair status and recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty diesel engines; dealership experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and air brakes.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of hand tools or power tools required for repairs.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for tractor-trailers and industrial equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; relevant certifications in automotive or diesel repair are a plus.
