  • Conduct routine servicing including oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to ensure uptime.
  1. Equipment Readiness & Turnaround:
  • Prepare equipment for rental by verifying functionality, completing post-rental inspections, and addressing all required repairs promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of equipment to rental-ready condition.
  1. Documentation & Recordkeeping:
  • Accurately record all maintenance work, inspections, and repairs using internal tracking systems or service logs.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company standards.
  1. Safety & Shop Support:
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area at the rental facility or shop.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols while performing work on various types of equipment.
  • Provide occasional customer-facing support by explaining basic equipment functionality or safety checks.
  1. Cross-Team Coordination:
  • Communicate with rental managers, dispatch, and drivers to prioritize repairs based on rental schedules and job demands.
  • Assist with parts ordering or inventory needs for rental service operations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of diesel technician experience, preferably within a rental or construction fleet environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications in diesel, equipment maintenance, or hydraulics preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with small-to-medium construction equipment and trucks.
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to obtain DOT Medical Card (CDL is a plus).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, safety awareness, and attention to detail.
