Dietary Aide

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents, ensuring that dietary needs are met with care and attention. You will work closely with the Dietary department to support food production and maintain a clean and safe food service environment. The hours for this position are 6:30am to 6:30pm (12 hour shifts) and 3pm-7pm part-time shift.

Duties

• Assist in meal preparation and cooking under the supervision of the head cook or dietary manager.
• Help with food handling, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Serve meals to residents in a timely manner, adhering to specific dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
• Support the Dietary department in inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
• Participate in training sessions related to food service and dietary practices.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive dining experience for all residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and meal preparation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of food handling safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, staff, and other departments.
• Willingness to learn about dietetics and nutritional needs for various populations.
• Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
